I thought i would be the first one to write about the musical but i guess i am wrong :(. The whole musical thing is a collaboration of Choir, Dance and Drama Club of MayFlower Secondary. Where Mr. Chen is the director! Well i suppose everyone knows what a musical look/sound liked. If not, just think of it as a play where people sing and dance in it. It's kinda quite well done so perhaps thats why he seemed to be more fun then usual! He have gotten soft on us if anyone would notice!

I can't really describe how the musical goes. Here's just a breif description. Correct me if i am wrong. *Note: There would be singing here and there, but i won't include it inside.

There is a yearly event where the school had to produce a play to participate in the international acting somethin somethin. A girl named Donna, who was talented in singing, dancing and acting, was always chosen as the lead, but she met in an accident which cause her to be physically unwell to participate the event. So the school, having no choice- had to open up an audition.

The news of the talented girl injured and the audition had spread lyk wild fire. Where the PA(performing arts) Society members decided to join the audtion.

Then, the scene move to a soccer boy, who is the star player of his team. He had this secret desire of dancing and decided to join that audition to fufill his dream.

After that, it move to a girl, if i am not wrong, named as ashleigh- It's spelled lyk that; got it from the assistant scriptwriter himself. She, like the soccer boy had a secret desire- but it's the desire to sing and participate. She also had a best friend who is a scriptwriter in the story- who later become steads

So Ashleigh and the soccer guy went to the audition and participate together and got in the final round.

And oh- Ashleigh had a stead in the play who is jude, the one who wrote the play! -The one who Mdm Ho said is handsome durin the play- Sssh don't tell her that! But too bad for Mdm Ho, Ashleigh and Jude are stead in real life. Don't ask me how i know, i have my sources- a reliable one to boot!

News of them being able to enter the final round of the audition were heard by the PA society members. And they tried to 'sabo' them of being late because they believe that the non-musical people should not be included in the play AS firstly, It should be the PA society's job to do a play and secondly, Ashley and soccer boy were inexperience of any PA stuff. But they failed miserably. And the pair became the lead roles of the play.

The musical kind of reminds me of High School Musical, especially the girl named Cathy; the leader of the PA society. She totally acts like sharpay evans(ashley tisdale) in the series- The way she talks, the way she move herself as well as her squeaky voice. Too bad she doesn't have a brother in the musical who follows her all the time, she's also not rich too in that play xP

The Musical's theme song is "Yo Vivo Cantando"- i live to sing, is actually the new song we are going to learn NEXT!!! Well, we have the score alrdy- it's just that we haven touch on it yet xP. I am so soo looking forward to it- it sounded cool on stage during the musical. I wonder if we would produce the same or better yet, stronger sound? Anyway, i have a hunch that, "Yo Vivo Cantando" would be one of the songs we are going to sing at the end-year concert! You know, the combine choir concert i talk about in my first post!!

To tell you the truth- i kinda hate the solo parts in the musical xP Don't ask me why, i just hate it. Although i admire their courage to sing infront of the crowd alone, but yea, still hate it.

Well, that's what happened on tuesday, now i am moving on to wednesday.

Since it's suppose to be 'guys' day- the guys are suppose to lead the warm-ups. Which include physically and vocally. ANd since VRA's is busy on that day, guess who lead the vocal warm-up? If your guessing me, then ur correct. Ok, so i was leading the vocal warm-up HALFWAY, when Mr. Chen came. I was lyk, "GOD save me~!". Too dramatic? I know, but i was just trying to exaggerate the point that I am sooo pressurise when he's here. Esp when he comment to me, about the choir not sounding good enuff and such- and ask me to tell them what i expect from them. The first few tries are CRAP! The floor is literally clean becuz the voice produce sucks(no offense). But for some god-knows-what reason, a miracle happened- suddenly the sound produced improved tremendously; that would be an understatement, if you get what i mean. And i was Mr.Chen nodding his head. I wonder if the choir do it becuz mr chen is here so they do it because they pity me or is it that I can lead warm-ups? Let's hope it's not becuz of the first reason they did it. IF it is, don't tell me about it. :)

The rest of the day is lyk normal choir days. Mr chen teach us how to sing, we sing and that's that. We are now doing back "RainForest Song"- perhaps it's for the upcoming concert(I forgot what name it is). Anyway, I am totally obsessed with rainforest song, because of the 2nd last page; the part where the guys go, " the under story" over and over again, and the sopranos came in with, " on the ground level" after 4 bars of music and etc etc. If there's no 2nd last page- i would probably dislyk the song.

Anyway during the rehearsal, when Mr. Chen is teaching the sopranos to sing the "Oooo~" part, Luigi and I were lyk arguing about which of the 3 songs we sang during the awards day are our favourites. Obviously, he chose "Cui Dong Cui followed by You raise me Up then RainForest" while i chose " Rainforest, Cui Dong Cui and then You raise me up". I don't really lyk you raise me up cause i don get to sing high notes much :( And i had to use the deepest of my voice to sing that song.

Guess what led to our little arguement? It's because of the syncopation rainforest song has! Mr chen asked us to keep repeat the lines as long as we don't get the part correct. And because of syncopation, we kept singing the part wrongly and well, Luigi was lyk saying, " i hate this song". In a playful manner i guess. xP

I guess i wrote quite abit of words today. But oh well, i am making the blog "alive" as much as possible. Hope it helps :)
